We'd like you to help us put on a show!

RSVP is a completely volunteer-run organization, and the best way to get involved is to come to the auditions for a show. If you aren’t comfortable on stage, there are plenty of other opportunities:

Picture
Stage Manager Haley Webster backstage at RSVP's "The Wizard of Oz," 2012.

Stage Manager:

The Stage Manager assists the director with auditions and rehearsals, and gives the sound and light technicians their cues. Stage managers make the whole process of putting on a show run smoothly, and are an active part of the production from the first audition to the last performance.

Stage Runner Sarah Russell moving corn backstage for RSVP's "Oklahoma!," 2010.

Stage Runner:

When the scene changes, the stage runners are the ones who do the changing. They also help out backstage with costume changes, setting up and clearing off props that actors don’t take with them, and the like.

Set Construction:

Sets may be as simple as a few wooden blocks or as complex as a palace with working doors, windows, stairways, and trap doors. Come help us build a new world!

Costumer:

Everybody loves the costumer, who is there with a safety pin or some stick-on Velcro when an actor’s costume malfunctions. Costumers can design and create, make alterations, or just make sure everybody gets a costume when they’re handed out.

Scarecrow with his blunderbuss, Dorothy with her basket and Toto, Cowardly Lion with his net, Tinman with his axe - all thanks to the Props Coordinator!

Props Coordinator:

When Dorothy skips onstage with her picnic basket, somebody has to make sure there’s a basket backstage waiting for her to take on. The Props Coordinator is one of the unsung heroes of any production, making sure there’s a place for everything, everything in its place, and the props to place there.

Publicity (newsletter, posters, banners, etc):

Do you like to write? Or, are you looking for an outlet to display your graphic talents? Every show has its own poster, and some have banners. Come design an image that will be recognized across the county wherever our posters are displayed. Or write a story for our local paper to highlight an upcoming production!

Tickets, ushers, programs, cast photos, and more!

The opportunities are many. Some require considerable time and effort, others just a pleasant afternoon or evening in the company of friends old and new.

Come join our community!
Community theatre is one of the few activities that spans generations, enabling all members of a family to participate. Our  production of The Sound of Music was blessed with THREE GENERATIONS of families involved.
